Community Guidelines
CraftWorks is a community built on trust, authenticity, and respect for Costa Rican craftsmanship. These guidelines help keep our marketplace safe and genuine for everyone.
All products must be genuinely handmade
Every item listed on CraftWorks must be personally handcrafted by the listed artisan. Mass-produced, resold, or commercially manufactured items are not allowed.
Accurate descriptions and images required
Product photos must show the actual item. Descriptions must be truthful. Misleading listings undermine trust in the marketplace.
Respectful communication
All interactions — messages, inquiries, and profiles — must be respectful. Harassment, threats, discrimination, and abusive language are not tolerated.
No spam or unwanted contact
Do not send unsolicited promotional messages or excessive contacts. Use the messaging system for genuine inquiries only.
No impersonation
Do not pretend to be another artist, business, or person. Your profile must represent who you actually are.
No illegal goods or services
Listings for illegal items — including drug paraphernalia, weapons, stolen goods, or counterfeit products — are prohibited.
How to Report Violations
If you see something that violates these guidelines, use the "Report" button on any product or artist profile. You must be logged in to submit a report. All reports are reviewed by our team.
What Happens When You Are Reported
Our team reviews every report. Depending on the severity:
- Minor issues are noted for future reference
- Moderate violations result in a warning
- Serious violations cause content to be hidden pending review
- Repeated or critical violations may result in account suspension or permanent removal
